Board of Supervisors positions are three year terms, elections take place in December of every year. Contact KSWCD if you would like to participate.

August 29, 2022: KSWCD staff, partners, and volunteers installed a boot brush station at the head of South End Trail on Near Island. Hikers can brush off their boots before and after using the trail to help prevent the spread of invasive species.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) provides grant funding and in-kind support for numerous projects within the KSWCD.

We partner with Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge (a refuge under FWS) to manage invasive species threatening the natural lands of the refuge on the Kodiak Archipelago.

Alutiiq Grown

A collective of tribal and community owned farms located in the communities of Larsen Bay, Old Harbor, Ouzinkie, Port Lions, and the city of Kodiak. Our mission is to increase our region's food security by providing fresh and local foods to Elders and community residents. From hydroponics and soil farming, to raising chickens, and more we are here to feed our people.

Kodiak Archipelago Leadership Institute (KALI)

The Kodiak Archipelago Leadership Institute is a community-based, non-profit organization based in Kodiak, Alaska. Their mission is to support the long-term sustainability of our region’s coastal communities of Alutiiq heritage. KSWCD produced a series of videos on soil health for KALI.
